Reality Shift :: Winged Victory 2010

After yesterdays' thoughts on adjusting to a new reality,
I sat down to create a piece of art which encompassed
what that might look like. These are the first two
pieces from this series.

I liked the idea of taking something "known" and giving
it a new interpretation .

Indeed, to see something familiar through new eyes -
to Expand My Vision.

That sounds like a perfect resolution for a new decade.

I agree, I am looking to break out of the box as an artist, and search inside for new interpretations as you say!

Yes, I too like looking at something from different perspectives.
Wonderful!

Happy New Year to you two!

Yes our ways of seeing are so predictable/programmed aren't they...it takes real effort to change our perceptions...love what you've done here...particularly the first one...

I've climbed in and out of the box so many times, I'm getting arthritis in my knees.

But one of the goals I have this year is to seriously work on my craftsmanship skills. I often have ideas and visions that I can't make come to fruition because I'm simply not skilled enough to make it happen. I'm going to work on that this year. Rather than accept that I don't know how to do something, I'm just gonna do it. And, if it's ugly, I'll just start the damned thing over!

I like the Winged Victory series - you've brought new life to the old girl!

I never understood Technorati either. I have just been over there and still don't get it. Hmmmm.

The Nike of Samothrace or Winged Victory, changed my life. When I saw her in the Louvre, I sat and stared at her for a good two hours. When I returned from Paris, I embarked on a career in Art History. Thank you for your lovely post:)
