I'm sailing away this week ... . .
An unexpected journey to say good bye to a dear friend.
Funerals often have me thinking of Oscar Wilde,
who checked into my favorite little hotel in Paris
( L'Hotel) and declared:
"I choose to die beyond my means."
My friend clearly didn't make the same choice ... .
but he, too, lived with grace, elegance and wit -
especially when life presented him with
difficulties and challenges.

So sorry to hear of your loss and any loss of grace and elegance affects us all. My heart to your heart...smooches
A beautiful tribute to your friend. Rituals are important, saying goodby to a dear friend, closing a chapter, grieving. My thoughts are with you, Judy.
When are you coming back? You are being greatly missed!
Thinking of you Judith....'courage' as they say in France, xv.
Funerals/death always put life for the living into perpective. I am sorry for your loss.

Whoever it was, it sounds like they had a great life. It is those sudden departures too soon that seem so very unfair.
But, we are left to deal with it, ready or not. Me? Never ready.
My heartfelt sympathy to you.
I have been off the radar of late and had no idea you had lost a dear friend. Hugs to you Judith.
