Not As Nature Intended

An entire family of Topiary Elephants ?!!
These grand garden creatures are a true testament to more than a bit of time, talent and pure whimsical folly. It's tempting to place myself in one of upper windows of that rather staid and solid house and imagine crawling out of bed and gazing down upon this leafy green group every morning.

A guaranteed smile.

If this property is on the market ... . do let me know.

I'd buy it, just to be able to add this line to my obituary :
"She had a family of life size Topiary Elephants in her garden." That would just about say it all .

[would love to give a photo credit - but haven't a clue where I found this moment of whimsy]

I bet they don't do their own cooking in that house! I'm exhausted already. I will be happy to go to Paris and let someone else do the cooking!

These elephants along with some deer roamed in Regent's Park, London mid 2008 on a Survival Tour in aid of British and Asian wildlife habitats.
For those who want their very own topiary elephant you can get big frames here! http://webpages.charter.net/mrtopiary/pages/elephants.htm

OMG -- - Chrisy, thanks so much for the info! I'm so thrilled to know where these babies lived and that I can have my very own. ( though, I doubt I could get them to survive in my high desert climate)

It has definitely got to be here in England - where else :)
Thanks for your kind comments I am about to add your lovely blog to my blogroll.
Oops just read one of the comments saying it was Regents Park - oh well it is BRITISH then.

Hello Judith - your topiary elephants are at Petersham House in Richmond in London. It's a private house but the gardens are open occasionally to the public - I went there last summer. Check it out at http://www.petershamnurseries.com/petershamhousegarden.asp
The plant nursery connected with the house is a really special place.
