Visual Poetry :: Inspiration from Maine

I'm always intrigued by personal collections of odd little objects
of no singular consequence .. .. . especially those with a hi-low
mix, such as these from a Maine antique dealer .

He obviously takes great pleasure in creating visual poetry with his unique
blend of found objects and treasures. Love the floor with row upon row of
hand painted white dots. Great attention to detail, mixed with large doses
of elegance and purity.

Each artful composition creates its own poetic moment .
Few words needed.

'Visual Poetry' truly does describe these vignettes perfectly. Simple but so elegant. Hope you are having an equally lovely week? ~ deb

So personal and unique. That table is almost boat-like...perfect for the locale.

I love the simplicity and the combining of neutrals.

The fist photo reminds me of the sculptures of Elie Nadelman, almost folk art, but very sophisticated.

So it is true we met you just before we left for France, amazing!
Every winter I miss the light in New Mexico so much. In Paris we are at the same Latitude as Newfoundland, there is not enough light for almost 8 months of the year.

very evocative vignettes ... and I may have to try out that floor technique someday. Someday when the floors already need refinishing, just in case I hate it beyond words.

lovely photos - as always!

Artwork in back of first pic looks a tad like abstract chinese calligraphy, no? Interesting.
