Since I had veils on the brain last week, I came upon this beauty
in my files and just had to share it with you.
I feel it's from a photographer I should know .. . . but, I really can't
identify the source. (If you can , please do!)
Don't you just love the perfection of the contrast between the
ethereal quality of the veil & cabbage rose with the geometric
simplicity of her dress?

Hello dear and thanks for your sweet comment on my blog!
It's sooo amazing sensual with veil in 'a right context'.
By the way, I'm so glad to have found your lovely lovely blog!

Absolutely in love with it !!
bravo for pursuing this exquisite object of desire Judith !
when i was 18, i was quite "fantasque" and wore a burgundy hat with a black dotted veil. Now i only wear a black lace mask when i do my siesta !
fab FAB FAB photo!
I love the contrast a veil creates of being both hidden and exposed - very provocative!
this is a beautiful photograph. It is hard to know, I don't it is so very timeless. Possibly Norman Parkinson? pgt
That dress is divine...
i love how her face gets lost in the light...
I love those dark eyes and lips. Especially the eyebrows. That is a gorgeous photo. I wonder, too, who took that photo?

Hi Judith,
I sent you an email about this photo (which undoubtedly is sitting in your spam folder as all my emails tend to go there!). I believe that the photographer is named Lillian Bassman. She just turned 93 and released a retrospective book about her work as a fashion photographer called "Lillian Bassman Women". I saw this photo flash by me as I was watching an interview with her on tv.
Hi Judith,
I wasn't sure if Studio Judith was THE JUDITH and I'm so delighted to find you here! I haven't really spent much time on Flickr,,,,for about a year or so.
I love your blog and was searching for a place to 'join' but couldn't find one - so I'll just add you to my list of blogs.
As always, I love your thoughts and style!
I do hope life has been good to you!
Trudi
