Swingers :: Circa 1910

I am TOTALLY enchanted by this image ... .

1 - The girls in their high neck shirts - topped off with bow ties

2 - The skirt with the appliqued contrast stripe ( and petticoat
peeking from beneath )

3 - The Hats ( of course)

4 - The striped canvas beach chairs as swings !!

I love the skirt on the left with the velvet ribbon trim. As for petticoats, I adore them too! If only they were still in fashion!

I love the title, 'Como swingers'! Whatever became of the world of petticoats and swings? I knew it, and I miss it.
I'm trying to be inspired by the summer but it is unbearable here. I've pulled the curtains closed, the air-conditioner is pumping away (I see the dollar signs!) and for a further inconvenience, I am having a new kitchen floor put in for the next two days. Lake Como is but a dream!

I love those skirts! They look like they're having so much fun.

The swings are wonderful but must admit I'd want to tuck my feet up under my skirt...whip off the bow tie, unbutton the top button...and really relax! What a hussy!

Oh Judy I am still dreaming of Lake Como but I think I will pass on wearing a petticoat and bow tie when I finally make it there. Lovely picture.

Charming! but don't you think the one on the right looks as though a rock has landed on her head :)
