Girls in Grand Elizabethan Collars ... . ..grace the Perfume Garden at the VIP opening at the Chelsea Flower Show.
Love the detail of the collars starting from the very low off-the-shoulder
dress and extending up to encompass the head.
These ladies become as sculptural as those tall clipped evergreens
reaching to heavenly heights.
Or, could they be coyly hiding from the giant phallic symbols?

I have a complete case of the blue meanies because I'm missing this event. FAB pictures - and, actually, the huge ruffled collars (as well as the large hoops of skirts) were symbolically meant to do EXACTLY that!)

WT saw the Queen Mum once at the Chelsea Flower Show.
BBC World had some clips of the opening, including Stephen Frye. It is always a wonderful event! It's fascinating to see how quickly it's transformed from a blank space to a thing of beauty.
