She Had No Intention of Walking Around in Them

She had a long history of purchasing shoes which would never see pavement. Often they occupied a coveted place on the shelf in the closet, as if to give her a private wink as she reached for the dusty, comfy , army of foot soldiers who accompanied her on the rounds of her Real Life.

There were a few who lived on the pedestals usually reserved for sculpture in the more public areas of her very private house. Her friends would often give a nervous giggle and roll their eyes as she smiled and gave no explanation.

She knew they would later offer up these observations as proof .. .. . that she was , well, a bit different.

Now Judith - Is this about you? Whether it is, or isn't, it has all the elements of a great short story. I wanted to read on!
Happy Weekend!

Great shoes. I too am tempted to buy stuff that I'll never wear just to admire its beauty. Wish I was a museum curator!

I confess to having a few pairs of gorgeous heels that are impossible to wear for long - much less on pavement - but they are too beautiful to resist. These are quite something!

Beautiful...I would use this one as a focal point in my decor rather than my feet :)

Stunning and unique shoes, and I love the story! The pain we suffer for beauty-- I have a hard time wearing some pairs of heels for any length of time, but oh how I love them all the same (much to my husband's bewilderment!) xo

Shoes, shoes shoes... have I mentioned how much I love shoes?!? It's Feet Art - but I have to tell you I can't buy shoes only to look at! I'd put those puppies on my feet if only to tip toe around my house to feel like princess!!
