Think Edgy Bohemian. Think Peggy Guggenheim in Venice.
Think perfect mix of sumptuous fabrics, regal furnishings and
monumentally scaled art from the personal collections of Cy Twombly,
Damien Hirst and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Who could put this all together with such panache ??
Perhaps only the multi talented Julian Schnabel ... . .
artist, film director, interior designer and noted pajama collector.
And where could this little slice of heaven be found ?
The Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City.
Dive in. Enjoy.
Let's retreat to the Penthouse to prop up our feet and consider the
perfect evening after a day of museums, galleries and just a
bit of shopping.
I'm thinking room service.
Won't you join me ?

YES
I'll join you in a heartbeat.
I"m only 80 minutes a way - chill the Cristal!
New York is wonderful in the snow! Almost - almost - quiet!
His loft is stunning too. I saved the pictures from an old Vogue. Such a beautiful hotel again.

I LOVE this. The Peggy Guggenheim in Venice thought is spot on.
And your new blog banner is a charmer! Great photo = great look.
Lovely post, and I adore the room with green walls and cherry red furnishings.
My my , this is shaping up to be a great evening in the Penthouse .. .
perhaps we should call Julian and
Olatz to join us.
Better still, let's just knock on their door over at Palazzo Chupi.
(Opps ... . forgot: they're divorced)
This is looking like a fun event. If I can find the right outfit, I'll be there...she says, flinging shoes over her shoulder and digging through the closet.
Judith I love your abstract mind and I am shrieking with delight at the thought of being in the room! By the way my outfit has to revolve around my new very long green and black striped socks, so expect an eye-opener of style hitherto unseen!
And you, Miss Kitty,
shall have
the seat of honour ... .
to prop up your feet
and
show off those socks!
Oh yes Judith, I want that seat, but I should warn you they [socks] are as straight out of a box of Crayola crayons. Or a Tim Burton wardrobe!
Room service...that's a fine idea dearest...let's start with some good quality champers and some amuse bouche....love the decor...the colours...the floor...not keen on the large artwork in pic 3 but otherwise would be very happy to hang out here for a few days!
How divine! I must stay there on my next trip to the big city.
